Bluestacks review safety1/9/2023 ![]() ![]() Why? It’s been vetted by millions of users and is developed by one of the largest companies in the world. When you download the Windows operating system on your PC you can be sure that Windows is safe to use. What do we mean by this? Let’s use an example. ![]() BlueStacks can result in a virus as a result of the inherent functionality of the app. Ok, so we’ve justified our claim that BlueStacks is a safe program but we haven’t discussed a couple of ways that BlueStacks is NOT safe. We’ve used BlueStacks personally for years without any issues and it passed every virus scan we analyzed. To conclude, we believe the actual software app BlueStacks is completely safe. Lastly, we scanned the file through the OPSWAT online virus scan and found that there are zero threats found in the file. We ran the download file through their online VirusDesk scan and found that BlueStacks was safe from any virus. ![]() Kaspersky helps to protect over 400 million users from viruses. VirusTotal scanned the BlueStacks app and checked it against 64 virus directories and every single one found that it was clean and without any virus. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() It appears the obtaining a certificate to perform driver signing costs hundreds of dollars per year and not every software developer can afford that kind of money especially when their software is freeware or open source. ![]() We know that PeerGuardian has been superseded by a program called PeerBlock which doesn’t have these issues, but it’s just being used as an example to demonstrate the problem. This becomes a problem when using some legitimate software and you’re unable to load an older program such as PeerGuardian with the error message “Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file” because of an unsigned driver. It is also very difficult for software that belongs to a high risk category to obtain a digital certificate and one example is the Elite Keylogger where it took them years to get their driver signed. This is by design to provide a more restrictive environment to protect Windows from easily being infected by rootkits, a type of malware that uses a driver for low level hooking. One of the common problems that people face when using a 64-bit Windows is loading unsigned drivers. ![]() |
